Because of the thinner, lighter texture, the formulation does not keep oil at bay. The only shortcoming of this powder foundation is the lackluster wear time. A lot of times, powder foundations tend to cling to dry patches around my brow and eye area, emphasizing any fine lines however, this was not a problem with the Lock-It formulation. ![]() I love how lightweight the formulation is and despite giving impressive coverage and a soft, smoothing finish, the powder doesn't add texture or cakiness. When worn over moisturized skin prepped with a non-tinted primer, the powder provided a surprisingly high coverage that's more opaque than most liquid foundations I've tried. ![]() Made with a talc and kaolin clay, the Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation has a silky, finely-milled, and very pigmented formulation. Kat Von D | Lock-It Powder Foundation in "Fair 115" (Left) & "Light 125" (Right) Kat Von D | Lock-It Powder Foundation in "Fair 115" Included is 9 g of pressed powder, which is a reasonable amount as most powder foundations range anywhere from 6 to 12 g. The powder comes with a simple sponge applicator there is no separate compartment for storage but the compact will shut tightly with the sponge placed right on top of the powder. The lid is adorned with a raised wax seal design embossed with the KVD logo and the inside has a stunning chrome red finish. The Lock-It Powder Foundation comes in a unique, eye-catching black square compact. I've got reviews and swatches (including some before and after shots) to share with you today. ![]() Promising a pigmented formulation that's instantly-blurring and long-wearing, the Lock-It Powder Foundation ($44 CAD for 9 g) is available in 26 shades. I’m so in love with this stuff that I haven’t used any of my other foundations in weeks.Kat Von D is well known for her Lock-It Foundation (reviewed here) and for 2019, the Lock-It product range is expanding to include the addition of a full-coverage powder foundation. Even though it is a bit on the pricey side, it’s definitely worth it to get such great results. It feels nice and light on my face even in this warm weather.Īs you can see from my before and after pictures, this foundation is pretty much a miracle worker. It has been terribly hot and humid here the last few weeks and while this is a full coverage foundation, it doesn’t feel thick and heavy when it’s on. Surprisingly this one holds up much better and barely breaks down after 8 hours of wear with a primer. I have an oily t-zone that usually breaks up my foundation after about 4 hours of wear even with a primer. I’m happy to report that I have been using this for a few weeks now and have not had any problems with breakouts. As someone with sensitive, acne prone skin, I was worried it would affect me as well. I had read in several reviews that people thought the ingredients my be causing them to breakout. Usually one pump is enough for my entire face. Be careful to not apply too much though cause it can start to look a bit cakey. This foundation has a semi-matte finish so even though it is thicker and full coverage, it doesn’t have that dried out look to it. It has full coverage that masks all of my flaws, redness and imperfections perfectly. As soon as I used this foundation for the very first time I knew I was in love! It has a pretty thick consistency that applies best for me with my damp beauty blender sponge.
